Who we are
Hillary Schroeder, Trademark Attorney
Hillary is an experienced intellectual property attorney who advises clients on trademark, copyright, domain name, and advertising law, both in the U.S. and internationally. With nearly two decades of experience at top law firms and major tech companies, she’s helped protect some of the world’s most well-known brands—while also guiding countless small businesses through their very first trademark filings.
In 2024, she founded Name Game IP to offer practical, clear legal advice to clients of all sizes. Her work spans global trademark clearance and prosecution, IP enforcement and litigation, advertising counseling, domain name strategy, and licensing.
Hillary has served as in-house counsel at Apple, where she managed global trademark portfolios for brands like iPad, AirPods, and iPod. After her time at Apple, Hillary served as the global director of trademark & copyright at Juul Labs, Inc. Earlier in her career, she practiced at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, and was most recently a partner at the boutique IP firm Pranger Law.
She’s supported clients across industries—from tech and entertainment to fashion, healthcare, and consumer goods. Hillary holds a JD and MA from the University of Chicago and a BA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She speaks regularly on IP topics and splits her time between San Francisco and Joshua Tree.
